Monthly Archives: April 2012

I have dark, black hair and have always wanted to try going blonde. But lately, I’ve been noticing the dip-dye trend in fashion translate into hair and beauty. I like the idea of it but I’m not completely convinced that it will suit me, plus all the bleaching will put a lot of strain on my hair.

What do you think?

Although there are tons of amazing leather jackets out there by various designers my favorite by far is the Balenciaga quilted leather jacket (sold out) and it has a price tag to match. At $2,650.00USD it’s not for the faint hearted but it’s definitely worth every penny as it literally goes with any outfit. It is my holy grail of all jackets!

Here is one of many ways I would wear this jacket…

Alice By Temperley £200.28

Kenzo €368.00

Made Her Think $179.00USD

Michael Kors £137.03

Marc by Marc Jacobs $250.00USD

Prism $405.00USD

As much as I love wearing skirts and dresses, I could not live without my jeans. I own almost every basic style of jeans such as bootcut, skinnys, straight, flared, cropped, high-waisted etc, but I don’t own a pair of boyfriend jeans. So I have decided to do a post on boyfriend jeans in the hopes that it will inspire me to go out and buy a pair!

My favorite ‘boyfriend’ look is the one shown below with the torn jeans which brings back some of the girlyness that’s missing. I have recreated my ‘boyfriend’ look by choosing embroidered jeans from Adriano Goldschmied and matching it with an embellished silk top from Theory. How do you wear your jeans?

Adina Mills €144.07

Carolina Bucci £1,348.38

Theysken's Theory €500.00

AG Santa Fe Jeans USD$245.00

Lanvin €695.00

Salvatore Ferragamo €1,087.00

Mulberry €239.00

Theory £416.40

Last weekend for Easter I flew down to my old hometown of Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand. The city was hit by a monstrous earthquake in February 2011 killing more than 185 people in one of the nation’s deadliest natural disasters.

It was my first time going back since the earthquake and it hit me pretty hard seeing all the rubble piled up on the streets. Luckily, the city is on the mend as well as the hearts of the locals. They have opened up Cashel Street with beautiful container stores and to my surprise they had also opened up Demetri’s Souvlaki store. My favorite eatery in town!

It’s going to be a slow process but I have no doubt that the ‘City of Gardens’ will restore its beauty again.

There has been another collaboration by one of the biggest names in fashion to create the must-have fashion accessory of 2012. But this time, it’s about the fizz and the pop! Jean Paul Gaultier has created a limited edition of Diet Coke bottle designs that mirrors his unique signature style. The collection themed ‘Night & Day’, pays homage to Gaultier’s infamous designs, including the iconic cone bra design which compliments the female-like silhouette of the bottle shape.

The hard part is trying to get your hands on one before they sell out!

I found the most amazing blog with beautiful black and white photography of old hollywood glamour in action on and off screen. The Constant Buzz by director A.P. Fischer, shows scenarios that invite the viewer to share the inner thoughts of the subject captured in the photo. I thought that this photo of Fred Astaire in Royal Wedding summed up my Easter weekend pretty well with my overdose eating of chocolate eggs. Happy Easter everyone!

Our Queen B. of this week is Miroslava Duma, the former editor of Harper’s Bazaar (Russia). Her bohemian chic style is always on note with the right amount of balance of prints and accessories. But what we love most about her style is that you can easily recreate her look with one statement piece and a few basic items that you already have in your wardrobe. Whether it’s a bold necklace or a vintage sailor’s cap, it’s the small details that make all the difference.

Miroslava is a big fan of jewelry designer Tom Binns for his fantastic eye for color and intricate detailing. The white necklace worn by Miro pictured above adds a tone of femininity to a tomboyish look.
